K. Michelle Peavy, PhD, MAC, SUDP
Dr. Peavy offers psychotherapy services that target substance use, health behavior change, relationship difficulties, and life transitions. She also offers psychological support and education for family members of individuals struggling with addiction.
In addition to her licensure as a clinical psychologist, she received specialized training in the area of substance use disorder treatment, including a postdoctoral fellowship at the VA's Center of Excellence in Substance Abuse Treatment and Education, and recent training in Mindfulness Based Relapse Prevention (MBRP).
Consultation
Dr. Peavy's experience working directly with individuals struggling with substance use disorders (SUDs) dates back to 1999. Since then, she has amassed a number of clinical training opportunities, as well as research, supervisory and administrative experiences that have broadened her knowledge base and expertise in the treatment of SUDs. Dr. Peavy has authored or co-authored over a dozen peer-reviewed research articles on SUD treatment issues, and has delivered more than 50 presentations. Consultation services include lectures, presentations, or training in substance use disorder treatment, or clinical consultation regarding SUD clients. |
